What could it be? ;)
I received this product the weekend before I left for Boracay, but I didn't want to start using it until after I got back. I thought I'd get tanned whilst there, and I wanted to make sure that I didn't waste this awesome product by breaking application.
It's L'Oreal's latest whitening miracle cream, "White Perfect Day Cream"!
As you all saw from my last post about my Boracay vacation, I got pretty tanned! I'm not a huge user of whitening products because I'm quite happy with my regular skin color, but with my tan I'm about 3 shades darker than usual. All things notwithstanding, this isn't a huge problem for me, but the fact of the matter remains that I look terrible with my currently too-white makeup on. My liquid and powder foundation shades especially make me look like an espasol (a local dessert that's dark on the inside and dusted with white sugar on the outside).
I started using L'Oreal last night to get my regular skin color back faster, and fingers crossed that it'll work! I'll get back to you all in a week to report what happened! ;)
The jar is heavy and very classy. I'm liking the pearlescent effect on the lid.
For now, my first impression of White Perfect is that it smells *good*. I've tried other whitening creams like Block & White, and I just couldn't get over the smell of it. It's like a nauseating bleach smell that was so overpowering that I couldn't sleep with it on. Not so for White Perfect, as the scent was both pleasant and mild, and it was in fact so unobtrusive that I had no difficulty sleeping with it on.
The cream itself was heavy and thick, as with all other whitening creams that I've tried (though admittedly I've only tried a handful of other brands). This is supposed to be a day cream, but I've not yet tried to wear it under my makeup. As a leave-on night cream, however, it performed just fine. I wasn't bothered by the smell or the slight stickiness, and when I woke up, my face was just a bit on the oily side.
I spend all my days at work in front of the computer and don't see the light of day unless it's the weekends, so hopefully this will be a rather controlled test. I'll blog about this again in a week to report the results!
In the mean time, retail price for White Perfect Day Cream SPF17/PA++ is P595 and it is available nationwide in leading department stores, drug & beauty stores, supermarkets and hypermarkets (SM Department Stores and Watsons Beauty Stores, PCX, Landmark Department Stores, Robinsons Department Stores, Shopwise, Mercury Drug Stores, Gaisano Metro Department Stores).

I remember when I was in China, whenever I was in shops the women there always wanted to sell me skin whitening products. But of course, for us, being tan is nice :-D
Zhu- I think it's just the human need to want to be the opposite of what they are? Hehe. So caucasians want to be tanned and asians want to be fair...
