Boracay Love! Vacationing in November

I'm finally back after a long, long weekend in Boracay with my sweetie, and I had a wonderful time. I didn't know that Boracay in the later part of the year could be so enjoyable, as I'd mistakenly thought that it would be raining the entire time we were there.

Gorgeous, sunny weather!

Surprisingly, it only drizzled a tiny bit towards the end of our trip, and even then it only lasted a few minutes. Josh and I both have tans, though in my case I'd been trying to avoid it. I slathered on sunscreen and still ended up four shades darker. Oh my!

We're like coffee and milk!

Here's what I wore during most of the trip... Can you believe that the bikini on the left was only P300? Gotta love non-peak season island prices. :D

I've been going to yoga religiously, but I still haven't shed as much weight as I'd like. ;_; I promise to be skinnier next time we find ourselves on a beach/resort!

My sweetie playing the sand. :D

And here's a pretty decent shot of my tattoo! This is on my right side and cost me many, many tears during the hour it took to ink it. I had it done last week, just in time to heal and show it off on Boracay. For the curious, it's a couple of lines from William Ernest Henley's "Invictus":

"I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul."

We stayed at OneMGM for a few nights. It was a beautiful resort, but the staff was a bit disorganized. They forgot to turn on the heat in our shower, didn't give us toothbrushes until we asked for them, and the fridge was broken and didn't cool any of our drinks. You can check out their site here: http://www.onemgmboracay.com/

We ended up moving to Le Soleil, which was much closer to station 2 (and thus D'Mall). It was every bit as beautiful, the service was excellent, it was right in front of the beach, AND it was cheaper. I highly recommend this place. You can check out their website here: http://www.lesoleilresort.com/

I found this little store in D'Mall selling lovely, hand carved tribal necklaces. Each had semi-precious stones embedded in the wood, and I found them absolutely enchanting. I got one with curlicues and a cat's eye for myself, and a simpler, more masculine Lapis Lazuli for Josh. Each necklace was only P395! What a bargain. :D

 A little burned, but very happy!

With all the wonderful sights and shopping opportunities, however, this vacation wouldn't have been half of what it was if the company had not been my sweetie. We had a completely relaxing time-- no petty arguments or hectic work days, just pure comfort and enjoyment. Quite different from past vacations I've had in Boracay, hehe!

After everything is said and done, I think that this vacation was one of the best we've had as a couple. It was romantic, not crowded at all, and just plain fun.

Til next year, Boracay! ;)

@daisy- Aw, thanks sweetie! :D

@Lauren- Thank you! I swear I tried to diet but I couldn't stop stuffing my face when we arrived. The food there was so good. :D

@Gela- Yes, yes! I didn't go for a long time, and then suddenly in the past three years I've been going once a year. Haha. Thanks so much! I like it, but my makeup hates me because it's too pale now. XD

I appreciate Boracay even more if it's off peak season. I hate going there during Holy Week, so stressful.

You look lovely, you don't need to lose weight! Do yoga for strengh and flexibility but don't worry too much about the rest.

I started yoga (hot yoga) again a couple of months ago and I love it for that.

Glad you had fun and really relaxed, what vacation is all about. Josh doesn't look tanned, hehe! I wish I could go to Boracay, never been there. But, I am not sure if it a place suitable for a family...
