Cream to Powder Eyeshadows: Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream Review

In terms of consistency, Make Up For Ever is pretty much the best Cream to Powder Eyeshadow that I've tried. Their Aqua Creams come in a wide range of colors, are very blendable, and are completely budge proof when dry. Unlike MAC's paint pots which come in very neutral base shades, Aqua Creams come in every possible color you could think of and then some. Their red/pink shades also double as cheek and lip colors, and I find that the shades I have are very versatile.

Part of the charm of Cream to Powder eyeshadows is that they double as gel liners, and using them is a great way to cut down the number of products used. As with the other cream eyeshadows that I've tried, Aqua Creams don't smudge, crease, or smear after they've set. I sometimes forget to use makeup remover before showering, and this was still on my face after getting thoroughly drenched! Talk about long-lasting.

Top half: wearing a combo of M4E shade 21 and Shiseido's aqua shimmer.
Bottom half: wearing a combination of M4E's shade 20 and 21 (dark blue and aqua blue)

My only complaint about Aqua Creams is that the plastic container that it comes in feels a bit cheap. The product itself is my personal favourite of those that I've tried (not as mushy as Shiseido but far more blendable then MAC), and at $22 for 6g of product, it's not a bad price at all. I just wish they'd put it in a glass container like all the other cream to powder eyeshadows, because the cap doesn't screw on as well with the plastic container that they're using.

Also, you should probably choose carefully because what you see in the container is exactly the color you get on your lids. This is color intensity with 0% fading. Because of this, I tend to use very little product since I chose the brightest shades of green and blue.

If you're going to a party then by all means pile it on, but for a simply day out, a light wash on half your lids will go a long way. Out of all the brands I've tried, this is my definite favourite.

For local girls lemming for Make Up For Ever, they've got a store at Bonifacio High Street and I popped in to check how much they were selling it for. It goes for Php1,450, which is approximately $29. Not a bad markup from the original $22.

Of course, the cheapest way to go is still buying in bulk and then shipping through Johnny Air, so I'd still recommend getting together with girlfriends and splitting costs so you can all get your stuff cheaper. :)

Stay beautiful, ladies~!

Zhu- That's really interesting! I find that cream eyeshadows are the only thing that doesn't crease on me, haha. (Well, the good ones anyway. The cheap stuff slides right off...)
