Anyway, as promised, I'd like to blog about my latest beauty find (thanks to my mum!): Hyalin's Beauty Insurance organic BB Cream.
I mentioned in my last post that my mum was really crazy about this BB Cream, and I was so happy with it that I used it everyday on my trip. It's currently summer in Korea, so between the long walks to and from the subway and my crazy shopping escapades, I was pretty much sweating like I normally would in the Philippines. The BB Cream held up quite well, and since I forgot to bring my favourite Etude House compact, I wore it without using any powder to set it. All told, its staying power is really quite impressive!
This BB Cream is for all sorts of skin types (I've got combination/oily skin), and features a yellowish brown hue. It spreads quite easily, and I was able to achieve even coverage by just using my fingers. As with all BB Creams, you need to wait a few seconds after application for it to adapt to the color of your skin. Don't panic if it comes on too white-- it'll blend into your skin tone by the time you're out the door. :)
Being a cancer survivor, it's really important for my mum to use mostly organic products. She met the owner of Beauty Insurance through another survivor, and I was lucky enough to be able to meet them all during my stay. The owner brought her daughter along also, and she was about my age and spoke really great English. She pretty much talked me through the whole product and was explaining all the intricacies of the cream.
The part that I was most impressed with was that it was organic, and that it's SPF content was higher than most other creams (SPF 35 as opposed to the usual 25). Since I spent a whole day out in the sun when we went to the Everland amusement park, I totally believe that it works. My face didn't get even a shade darker! (My arms were another matter, though... someone should invent BB Cream for the body! :P)
Pros- Organic, high SPF content, UV-blocking, and anti-wrinkle. It spreads easily and can be worn alone (without powder). The product also has crushed pearls inside, but doesn't give you the crazy shimmer effect that some other creams do. Instead, it blends into your skin and just gives you a lovely clean glow. The coverage is moderate, which means that it cover most of your skin's imperfections but still lets your natural color shine through.
This cream also gives off less of a whitish cast when you get your picture taken, which is a definite plus when it comes to BB Creams. This is in spite of its high SPF content, which I find to be really amazing (since it's the sunblock that makes most BB Creams appear whitish on camera.)
Wearing a pea-sized amount; photo taken under natural light
Cons- This BB Cream is really, really difficult to find. I've been using and experimenting with BB Creams for ages, and if my mum hadn't gotten the recommendation from her Korean friend, I would never have heard of it. This cream is only sold at Korean drug stores, dermatologists, and their online store.
The fact that it's one of the few BB Creams approved by the Korean Government is a definite plus, though it's viewed more as a dermatological product than a cosmetic. Either way, I'm really glad I found out about it, haha!
If anyone is interested in purchasing some, please drop by my little beauty shoppe. I was able to bring home a few pieces to sell because the owner was super nice and gave me a huge discount. (I'm selling it way cheaper than they go for on their Korean store!)
I hope you're all having a wonderful week! Stay beautiful, ladies~! :D

haha i still prefer the BB cream in ur header xP
It sounds really nice!
I wish I had paypal :(
Hmm must add to my wishlist :P
Janice - Haha, a loyal skin79 fan?
Mandy - It is, it is! I really like its effect in day time. :D
So what do you think is the best BB cream from all that you've tried? I want to try one =)
Mishel- Naks, that's tough! I've tried a LOT! Haha. Keep in mind I've got oily/combo skin, so I tend to like the matte creams. My top 3 are:
Skin79 Hot Pink - matches my skin tone perfectly but gets a bit oily after several hours. Good for cold/dry weather.
Beauty Insurance Black Label - good coverage and great for days when I'm not suffering from lack of sleep. Also matches my skintone, and stays matte for longer than the skin 79 hot pink one. Good for humid/hot weather.
Dr. Jart Silver Label - very matte and doesn't get oily, but very thick and difficult to spread; good for days when I have under eye circles because it's thick and conceals it. A little difficult to remove, though!
Funny kanina! that was like, a very sudden and rushed NICE TO MEET YOU moment. :D but it really was so nice to meet you :)
FB? :D
The benefits sound great Lizz! But soo expensive (yeah right, like I didnt spend a lot on my NuSkin TM, lol). Hey I forgot to comment the last time (because sometimes I'm lazy like that), I loved your tutorial on blue eyeshadow. Post more tutorials pls :D
Kumiko- Facebooked, my dear~! :D
Kira- Haha, I've spent so much on BB Creams that I'm scared to count! But I think it's worth it if you find a good one cuz it lasts for about 6 months to a year. :D
And yes, I have one in the works, I just need to find time to finish and upload it... *weeps* Wish I had more hours in a day~
thanks for answering my question Lizz. I appreciate it =)
congratulations on your beauty shoppe! i've been sooo busy these days, i wasn't able to find the post about it until now! i've been wanting to try out BB creams...aren't they meant for fair skinned koreans and wouldn't have the match for my skin tone?
Mishel- No prob! :D
Bianca- I'm not sure how much darker you are than me, but it works for my skin tone and I'm the Macchiato shade in Ellana minerals (their darkest shade). It blends into your skin tone and subtly brightens your complexion kasi, sis.
So BB Cream is just a generic name. Are all BB creams came from Korea?
xoxo
MrsM
Mrs. M- Yep, they started out there! There are other brands available now (Maybelline has one), but the majority of brands are Korean. If you do a quick search for BB Cream in my blog, you'll see a ton of entries reviewing other brands, haha.
OMG. Organic BB Cream! I must find a reseller.
Skysenshi- Haha, I'm selling it, dear! :) You can check it out at my store here--> http://www.lizzbuenaventura.com/p/shop.html
Ahh! Thanks! I'll wait for my next salary then I'm definitely buying, haha! Hm, that BB powder that you use with your Maybelline BB cream seems interesting too. :D
Bea- Okay, dear! Yes, the BB Powder was really excellent. :D
Hi, I was very excited to read this particular post on an organic bb cream. I found this site from looking for one.
Very good to hear that your mother was a cancer survivor! I'm also a fanatic when it comes to chemical-free products.
Though I see nothing about this being organic. I checked the Korean site aswell, there is nothing about it being organic either :(
It should say 유기농
are you sure this is organic??
Hi JJ! I can't read the Korean on the website, so I can only repeat what the owner told me. She said the product was organic, and that many cancer survivors use Hyalin products because of this. :)
Hello, Lizz!
As promised, I have written a review of this product: http://www.skysenshi.com/2010/10/bb-cream-review-brtc-missha-maybelline.html. I hope it becomes available in your store again. :D
Very good review! Thanks!
Could you show us ingredients of this one?
I would be really grateful to you because I have spent a lot of time looking for a BB cream without silicones.
xoxo!
