FREEWAY ART Fashion Review: Jose Garcia Villa

Few things make me as happy as the combination of art and fashion, and when I got back from Korea last week to discover that I'd received a Freeway press kit, I was really excited! The last Freeway fashion show had been based on Ang Kiukok's paintings, and I thought the designs were absolutely wonderful. Edgy, inspired, and a tad on the creepy side-- three things I love in art!

That said, I was surprised to discover that Freeway adapted the works of a literary and visual artist, and I was intrigued to find out what the resulting clothing looked like.

As soon as I fired up my pc and browsed the CD, all my fears were laid to rest. The visual art-- gorgeous, scratchy, and RAW-- that accompanied writer Jose Garcia Villa's words was incredibly beautiful, and the clothes were everything I could've hoped for and more! Feast your eyes on these masterpieces:

The leggings immediately caught my eye, and I flipped to the presentation folder where each piece was held up sans model. I always try to get a piece from Freeway's limited edition stuff, and I think I definitely need to get these pieces:

It's a total steal for P895, plus I don't have a single pair of leggings that I can wear in this country. :P (All my leggings are Korean and they've got glitters and belong in the disco era, haha.)

This didn't come with a price tag, but if it's less than 2k, I'm planning on get it. I'm a sucker for anything watercolor, and I love the simplicity of its design.

All in all, I give Freeway Art's latest installment two thumbs up! It's rare that you see such wearable pieces in artistic fashion, but there wasn't a single piece in this collection that I wouldn't wear. Very nicely done!
