Forever 21 Haul: Watercolors, Dots, and Connector Rings!

Up til a couple of weeks ago, the only way for me to buy Forever21 stuff was through ordering online and having them ship via JohnnyAir. It's been frustrating to go through their online store and have to plan out every haul, simply because shipping through Johnny Air isn't worth it if you just buy one or two things. Sometimes I miss out on a great dress because there's nothing else I want at the time, and sometimes I end up with a not-so-great fit because I didn't get to try it on first.

But that's no longer the case because Forever21 is here, here, HERE~! Yes, I was excited to say the least. I was at Forever21 in Megamall as soon as the weekend hit (it was officially open on Friday, but I couldn't go until Saturday because I have a typical day job *sad face*), and I was surprised that I actually had to line up to get into the store. I'm not kidding, there was a bunch of rope divisions, a long line, and some bouncers!

My guy came with me because he treated me to a couple of dresses as our 2-year anniversary present, and he patiently waited and walked around with me while I ran around oohing and ahhing. The rest of the stuff I swiped on my faithful little platinum card, which has a horribly large credit limit because it's an extension of my mom's. (I love it and hate it at the same time. Ugh.)

Anyway, on to the clothes!!

I'm such a sucker for watercolor dresses. I don't know why. It looks like someone threw paint on you and you let it dry and it ended up awesome. This was just a little over a thousand, maybe Php1,100? Really great price for such a lovely drape and pattern.

I got this one because the chiffon felt like butter and the print was so unusual. I've got a ton of little black dresses but not a lot of colorful party fare, so I snapped this up immediately. It was around Php1,400.

This one seems quite plain compared to the other two, but the fit and feel of the fabric was really good. It's soft jersey, but much thicker than the kind you can get an bazaars. It's a quality, comfortable piece, and it was only around Php850! :D

This one was love at first sight. I got completely the wrong size (Large when I should've gotten a Medium), so I'm kicking myself for not trying it on. But it still looks good when I put a belt on it, so at the very least I can still wear it. I can't remember how much this was, but give or take Php900?

This piece I got because I needed a skirt that wasn't too over-the-top to match all my black tank tops. This fit the bill perfectly, and the soft, silky cloth made it a winner for me. This was also around Php800, which isn't bad for such a pretty skirt.

Anyone remember when I was totally lemming for more connector rings? Well, I got them! (And they're still as uncomfortable as ever and I STILL love wearing them.) Also, each one was a measly Php250-300! Serious love for F21, as they don't overprice their rebranded China costume jewelry (I'm looking at you, ALDO!! I bought a ring online from F21 for $5 and then saw the exact same one at ALDO for almost a thousand pesos. Jeez.)

Anyway, I was really happy with my haul and I've worn every single dress and skirt by now (it's been a little over a week since the opening), and they've all been great. A lot of people have been saying that F21 clothing is badly made and/or "disposable", but my general experiences with them have been pleasant.

I've been ordering their stuff from the US shop and having them shipped to me for months. I just hand wash their stuff instead of sticking them in the washing machine (you're not supposed to put soft, silky clothes in there, anyway), and I've experienced nothing extraordinary. (In fact, I have this Mango cardigan that I bought for over Php2,000 and it burst a seam after the second hand washing. Talk about disposable clothing!)

In general, if you just take care of your clothing, wash them carefully and without harsh detergents, they'll be able to last quite a long time.

Stay beautiful and happy shopping, ladies~! :D
