Philippine Fashion Week 2010: Opening Night Style

There are few things that get me as excited as fashion and beauty stuff, and when my tickets to Philippine Fashion Week came in the mail a few weeks ago, I was on cloud 9. I couldn't wait to attend the various shows and see all the fabulous new collections of the season. I spent quite a bit of time thinking about what I would be wearing and how I wanted to do my makeup, and it wasn't until the night before the show that I found the Perfect Dress.

I was walking around Eastwood trying to find some dinner when I decided to drop by People Are People on a whim. This dress was the first thing I saw and the only thing I tried on, and as soon as I slipped it on, I knew it was the One.

The dress was deceptively simple and just too comfy for words! Styling it with gold accessories and my gold Et Vous heels was a breeze. The bag was a clutch I got on sale from CMG months ago, and I was suddenly grateful that I had decided to snap it up in such a distinctive color.

For my makeup, I went with gold-toned eyes, really matte skin, and ruby red lips (I just bought the shade "Summer Sunset" from Maybelline's Color Sensational line a few days ago-- talk about serendipity!). I literally had no time to put this look on as the show started just before 8pm and I barely had time to dress. I was still applying lipstick in the car, but all in all I think it took about 15 minutes.

Me and my guy-- seated and happy!

When we arrived, the crowd was already starting to trickle into the hall. We were ushered to some really excellent seats at the front row-- I had a great view, and I had the perfect angle for taking pictures throughout the entire show.

Front row seats! :O

The crowd trickling in...

I'd never been to SMX prior this, and I was pleasantly surprised at how pretty the architecture of the building was. The Fashion Rooms had high ceilings, comfy chairs, and excellent ambiance. It was nice to just sit for a bit and just take it all in, really.

Posing with Shalene, Sheila, and Sheina!

Josh and I were seated next to some really lovely girls who were also bloggers, and they were nice enough to pose for a picture with me. :D

It wasn't long before the show began, and I've got to tell you... SM has never looked this good! Lol.

Coming up... A full review on the actual Parisian show!

Kutitap- Haha, now I'm embarassed, lol. It was so nice to meet you! :D

Zhu- Thank you, dear! Everyone was so dressed up... loved people-watching!

Amandita- Thank you! Had a great time...

Iryn- Haha, thanks! They had lots of room for walk-ins in a lot of the shows. You just had to register at the "no ticket" booth, I think.
