Beauty Tutorial: Purple Passion Look

Purple Passion: Before and After

Purple is my absolute favourite color, and I wanted to share my favourite way to wear it with you ladies. It's a really simple and easy way to wear the shade, as all you need is a 2-color purple palette (light and dark), and some rosy pink lipstick.

After completing your foundation/concealer routine, pick your favourite purple eyeshadow. I'm using CLIO's baked eyeshadow in Milano Purple, and I use my brush to sweep up the pigment that I want one at a time (no blending in this case).

1) I pick up the lightest shade (shade 1 in the picture) of my eyeshadow with my brush and sweep it all over my lids. You can substitute any lilac shimmer eye shadow for this step. It serves as both my base and provides some lovely, understated sparkle.

2) Next, I use a different brush to pick up the darkest part of the eyeshadow (shade 2 in the picture above), and sweep it from the inner corner of my eye and blend it gently up til the middle area (see desired effect in step 2 in the picture below).

This gives you a lovely, gentle purple infusion that can be worn during casual days out. :)

3) Next up is lining your eyes. I'm using TonyMoly's gel liner in purple (these are the best products EVER!! Yay for Korean beauty products... LOVE LOVE).

Just make a thin line over your lids and on your waterline. Try to keep it simple with a slight wing at the corners. Gel liners are absolutely perfect, because even if you make a mistake, the slight blurriness doesn't make it look horrible. And also, they're so highly pigmented that it doesn't take much product to really make your eyes pop!

4) As a final step, I skip the mascara base and coat my lashes with my 4U2 GLITZ mascara in purple. It goes on pretty lightly (if you use just one coat), and it's perfect for keeping this look casually pretty.

After applying mascara, this is what your eyes should look like:

5) As a finishing touch, I use Revlon's Golden Affair sculpting blush to give my cheeks a berry hue. (Stay away from bright pinks in this case; it will look too matchy-matchy with the highlights of your eyes).

6) Using a blush brush, use a highlighter to go over your T-zone. I'm using TonyMoly's shimmer marble blusher in Party Lover.

 After blush and highlighter

7) As the last step, use your favourite pink berry lipstick to complete the look. I'm using Milani's Lottalip Liquid Color in "Risky" (dirt cheap and one of my favs!)

And voila! Purple Passion is now complete! This look takes me about 10 minutes to do, so it's really great if you don't have much time but want to look a bit special.

Stay beautiful, ladies! :D

I lost you and I found you again. Phew!

I can never ever do the eye lining thing. Which sucks because I love the effect. The line is never steady and way to far from my eye lashes... any trick?

I don't know Korean products but I used to love Japanese products in China.

Hi! I just stumbled on this. SO glad to see there are pinoy beauty blogs out there. It's hard to find beauty bloggers with similar skin tones. I think I'll spend my day reading your older posts- especialy the one on Etude house!

toxic- Haha, thank you dearie! Makeup IS yummy!

Zhu- Long time no talk! XD I recommend using gel liners. They're really great for unsteady hands because using a brush to apply they makes the edges naturally feathered and it doesn't make too much of a mess if you make a mistake (looks like you did it on purpose). Also, try to stick to your lashes as much as possible. If you use that as a basis, even if you're a little far, when you open your eyes it will still look normal (not a lot of people see you with closed eyes anyway). :)

B- Welcome, welcome! :D Always happy to meet new blogging friends. :D

Galing! And it looks so easy to do. Thanks for showing us this simple tut. I haven't tried purple on my eyes, though.

Lots of love,
