Shopping online: From Monitor to Reality!

(Purchased this one from an earlier Amazon/Johnny Air haul)
As someone who is absolutely crazy about clothes, I always find myself at a crossroads between price, uniqueness, and beauty. There are plenty of beautiful clothes available locally, but the ones that are cheap (i.e. SM Department store stuff) aren't very unique. Whenever I buy something there, I always end up seeing it on a bunch of other people shortly thereafter.
It's also difficult for me to find stuff in my size, as this country is filled with skinny and/or petite girls. I'm not big enough to shop at Plus-sized stores, but the regular stores don't fit properly along my bust and/or hips. Very annoying!
I discovered Johnny Air shipping late last year, and they have pretty much been the answer to all my problems. They basically let you shop online and ship to their New York address, and then they send your package to your Philippine address. Full post describing how it all works over here: Johnny Air Shipping Is Love.
Anyway, since then I've never had a problem with buying lovely unique clothes that fit me just right. Amazon had a huge sale a few months ago, and I went crazy and bought a bunch of dresses. And guess what? They all fit me perfectly! XD
(From left to right) Xhilaration Juniors Kimono Dress - Black Floral Print $12.48 (approx Php550); Xhilaration Juniors Kimono Dress - Pink Floral Print $12.48 (approx Php550); Xhilaration Ebony Tiered Tank Dress $10.48 (approx Php450)
(From left to right) Xhilaration Aqua Spacedye Sweater Dress $6.98 (approx Php300); Converse One Star Federal Blue Shirred Wrap Dress $11.54 (approx Php500); Xhilaration Juniors Dress - Blue Boho Print $17.48 (approx Php760)
My secret to shopping Amazon is to stick to the Junior's department. Their Juniors clothes are a perfect match for my size, as girls there have lovely curves and their clothing has room for people with hips. :P Anyway, I'm a perfect Junior's size medium, and at 5"4 inches I am seriously happy with everything I've ever purchased. In general, Juniors clothing runs cheaper than regular Women's clothing as well. They list bust/waist/hips sizes in inches, so it's never difficult to figure out what your exact size is whenever you want to purchase something.

Out of all the dresses I bought in my last haul, my favourite was the Aqua Spacedye Sweater Dress. It's too bad I didn't buy it in every color, as it was so cheap (they're sold out of it now), and it fit me so well. The ebony tiered dress was a close second, but I actually had to alter that one before I wore it. The last tier hung to my knees, and I wanted a party dress that was super sexy so I had the last tier removed!
I've used Johnny Air for shopping on Amazon, Forever 21, and a few other international stores and they are 100% reliable. In order to make the shipping price worth it, though, it's best to order many things at once (I usually spend around $80 per purchase). If you only see one or two things that you like, ask your friends to buy with you and then split the Johnny Air cost! ;)
Here are some of my favourite online stores: Target for Amazon.com; Forever 21; and of course Ebay.com (the international one). Amazon actually has a bunch of little stores within it, so make sure to buy all your things from one place so Johnny Air doesn't get confused. (Various stores ship from various places.)

omg lizz! what a helpful post! i myself got an "irregular" pinoy figure and i cant go shopping out of the country all the time for clothes. johnny air is definitely a big help :D
Amandita- Thank you! :D I love it, it's super colorful. :D
Maki- Hehe, I'm glad I could help! I highly recommend F21 shopping. It's the best thing ever. XD
Don't usually shop online, but I think the first dress is great!
Eeeee your dress haul is GORGEOUS! I'm loving that tiered dress in the first photo. And those are pretty good prices for dresses! Can you let me know the next time you shop at Amazon so I can do the same and share the shipping with you? :D
CCWai- Hehe, I love it, too! :D
Lauren- I definitely will! I usually purchase stuff when seasonal sales hit (that's when the dresses drop to about $10-20). If we buy from Target, we just have to buy everything from Target because they ship from a different location. (But that's okay because they have everything, lol.)
Also, let me know if you're hauling something and maybe I'll tag along. I don't always check and sometimes I miss their big sales, haha. :D
you look so pretty! i love your 1st purchased dress!
dresses so lovely!
Hey Lizz, ask Analyn for their New Jersey address just so you can save on NY taxes.
We also tried using their LA address and they ship faster than JAC NY, but higher charge for customs taxes here though. =)
Gad, those dresses are dirtcheap! I like the dress in your first picture, and the kimono dress. And your Johnny Air post is Really Helpful. Thanks again! You look great in the photos! (I love the first outfit a lot - the colorful tiered dress with the black gladiators!)
love the first dress!
The first dress is very pretty indeed! :)
I have the same problem with shopping in the Philippines. I'm curvy, average weight and 5'5". It's a challenge to buy anything that fits properly since most of the clothes seem to be made for 5' tall waifs.
I know what you mean! Greenhills Tiangge is a shopping haven but most things only fit what I call the SPF (skinny petite filipina)!
Why? Curvy girls need clothes too! Haha
