Ukay Manila: Now Carrying My Handmade, One-Of-A-Kind Polymer Sculpt Necklaces!

After years of dabbling in polymer clay and making my own jewelry, I finally decided to try selling some of my pieces. I was encouraged by all the positive comments in an entry where I posted one of my sculpted roses, so I really have my readers to thank (or blame, haha!) for this decision. :D

As a long-time lover of online store Ukay Manila (run by lovely girls Lauren and Liz), I decided to ask if they were willing to sell some of my pieces. Since my pieces are handmade and one-of-a-kind, I thought it would go rather well with their unique thrift-store finds. Luckily, they agreed!

We had a small trial run a couple of weeks ago, and now they're almost completely sold out (4 out of 5!). Tomorrow will be the launch of the second collection-- just five statement pieces, and each quite dear to my heart.

As most girls who have "9 to 6" jobs out there know, what little free time you have is so special. I make jewelry as an outlet for my creativity... a strange thing to hear from someone who "draws for a living", but it's really hard when you have to illustrate other people's ideas and design other people's products every single day. When I get off from work, I don't even want to touch my Wacom. :P

So I suppose jewelry may be my refuge... it's creative and I get to make whatever I want! I don't have to clear my designs with any higher-ups; I can just make beautiful, wearable art that make people smile.

That said, each piece I make is hand sculpted and made with the utmost care and thought. I make and remake my necklaces until I find the perfect combination of beads, pearls, and crystals, and it goes without saying that all my polymer clay sculpts are one-of-a-kind.

I do hope that whoever these pieces go to have as much fun wearing them as I did making them... They're definitely for the unique individuals out there! :)

*My pieces can be found at Ukay Manila's "Trinket Box" and are marked with my name.

I'm really glad you enjoy making the necklaces! We love having your work in the store. Your necklaces are definitely something I would wear if I weren't selling them. :D I'm really glad that my sister ended up buying The Night's Bridge, which was my favorite from your first collection. I'm definitely wearing that out one of these days!

Lauren- And I'm really happy you agreed to take them on! :D I was actually surprised that the others were snapped up before "Knight's Bridge", because black is really wearable and goes with anything! I'm excited to see you wear it, haha!
