B.B. Cream Review: Tony Moly Crystal in 'Natural'

Tony Moly Crystal BB Cream
"Natural"

My mum, who is currently living in South Korea as an exchange professor, recently sent home some Tony Moly BB Cream for me. This brand is nearly impossible to find in both local and international Ebay, so being able to review this is such a treat! (Thanks, mom! Stay strong and healthy. :D)

Since she knew that I'd been looking for a BB Cream that was dark enough to match my tone, she made it a point to go to the mall and skin test several kinds. She said that Tony Moly was the darkest she could find (I'm 2 shades darker than her), during her swatch tests.

Pros- I found that Tony Moly had a very nice consistency-- not too thick and not too watery, and it spread and covered my face quite easily. It also matched my skin tone quite well, and I was quite happy with the coverage it provided. It says that it provides abundant moisture, and that it enhances the silky feel of your skin. (Or at least I think it did, considering it was written in Korean English and was a little difficult to understand, haha.)

Similar to the Lacvert cream, it claimed to have crystal properties but I was happy to note that it only brightened my face and did not make me look like a Twilight vamp. (I still can't imagine why anyone would want to have a completely glittery face, as was the effect of Skin79's Diamond. :P) The oil control was excellent, and it required no retouching for the duration of my work day. (I did blot my nose with a bit of tissue, but even then the color stayed right where it was supposed to.)

Cons- If this was readily available, whether internationally or locally, I'd say this was the perfect cream. As it is, it's incredibly difficult to get a hold of it. :(

All in all, I really liked this cream. Since matching my skin tone is a must for BB Creams, this already had 50% of the other creams beat, lol. I can't say much about the cost since it's not available on any online stores, but if you're able to go to S.Korea, then you should definitely keep an eye out for this one. In terms of its repurchase factor-- I'd have to say that if it was more easily accessible, I definitely would buy it again. It's a huge 50ml tube, so I figure it'll take me six months at least to get through it!

Have any of my readers tried out various BB Creams? If so, please share your experiences!

I started using my 50ml BRTC bb cream since August and until now there's probably around 20% more to finish =p

Anna- Thanks! BB stands for Blemish Balm. :D Maybe I will, but she's been sick lately so I don't want her to go to any trouble on my account, haha.

Gizelle- Thanks for dropping by! :D

Chelle- That's great! It really lasts a long time haha.

hey lizz! been reading your blog for a while now, and i sure have learned a lot of girly stuff that i would otherwise have never found out about on my own. =)

re the bb cream, i've been using the face shop's hydro splash bb cream with spf20. the texture is smooth and quite light on the face, but the tone might be too fair for most people. it lasts for the whole day without a spot of oil on my skin. the coverage is excellent especially since my skin's been breaking out constantly. i don't remember the price but i don't think it was that expensive.

on days when i want to look a bit more tan i still prefer my tinted moisturizer over the face shop's too fair bb cream. =)

aninel- Hey girl! Thanks for dropping a line. :D I was curious about TFS BB cream, but the Eastwood branch didn't carry it and I promptly turned to ebay sellers. After that, I ended up just purchasing the popular Korean brands because it was so easy to order them online.

I'm definitely curious about TFS BB cream after reading your comment, though! I may try it in the future. :D
