My Thoughts on Adam Lambert Losing AI, Dick Grayson as the New Batman, and Another Sandbox Plug

The day Adam Lambert lost American Idol to that cookie-cutter indie singer-wannabe Kris Allen, I plurked my little indignant heart out. Whining about it now seems a bit counter-productive, but better late than never, I always say!

I could was philosophic about how the imminently more talented Lambert lost because homophobic America isn't ready for a gay idol just yet, but I think it's easier to say that the majority just has bad taste. Kris is unassuming and quiet and christ, I knew he was going to win against Adam as soon as I heard they were the top 2.

So boo for you, Kris. Enjoy the spotlight while it lasts because you're never going to sell as many albums as Lambert. :P (I'm not bitter, why do you ask?)

And speaking of blue-eyed, black-haired little stud-muffins-- Batman: Battle for the Cowl has finally ended! For a brief moment I actually thought that Jason Todd was going to succeed in wresting the cowl away from the other boy wonders, but in the end Dick Grayson steps up for some much-deserved screen time.

The first time (pictured above) was when Bane broke Bruce Wayne's back and Grayson stepped in after a nightmarish stint with Azrael-psycho-boy as Batman. Now, Bruce Wayne has been thrown into the past (where have I heard that before?), ex-Robin Jason Todd attempts to kill current-Robin Tim Drake, first-Robin Dick Grayson swoops in to save the day, and ta-dah!! Dick Grayson once again dons the cowl.

Grant Morrison, I expected more from you, but I'll settle for what I can get. Am I the only person who thinks that Jason Todd as Batman with Wayne-spawn Damian Al' Ghul as Robin is like the best thing ever?

The entire Bat-line has been revamped and some new books are coming out while the old ones are being retired. Obviously no more "Nightwing" since Nightwing is busy being Batman, but I'm somewhat surprised that there's no "Red Hood" (I find the concept of "Red Robin" to be entirely boring-- boo for you, Tim Drake).

In any case, I guess I'll have to make do with the Dick-Grayson-Batman and Damian-Al Ghul (or is it Wayne now?)-Robin. If nothing else, it all promises crazy character interactions.

Also, on a completely unrelated note: I've mentioned this before but I'll say it again for all you social networking-types out there: Go visit MySandbox.com because it is the shiznit. :D

So agree with you with the Adam Lambert thingy. I listened to their live mp3s. jeez, kris was ALWAYS pitchy with his songs.. and adam lambert was 98% flawless. perhaps something fishy really happened with the at&t votes.

Ana- I know, right? Boo for pitchy Kris and tears for the lovely Adam, but maybe in this case it wasn't so much cheating as it was poor taste of the American public. :( Sigh...

What does shiznits mean? Anyhow, I'm on sandbox! And not a moment too soon! (You might want to read my blog for some of the details hehe) :)

I don't really follow American Idol, but I've been hearing Kris Allen's "No Boundaries", and I think it's pretty good... unless it was sung by a different Kris... I'm way out of my pool here.

Philos - Shiznit is like a substitute for saying "shit". It's kind of weird that I would use that since I have no qualms about swearing on my blog, but oh well. Lol.

And I totally read your blog-- congratulations, haha! Too bad I'm so lazy about listening to the radio. :D

Kris' "No Boundaries" was all right, but during the actual competition he actually forgot some of the lyrics and was praised anyway. Sigh.
