Shopping Addict, Part Deux: Flats Vs. Heels

Recession shopping has never been so fun. In my efforts to save more, spend less, but still be able to enjoy all the comforts of my monthly shopping sprees, I've been getting really creative with where I shop.

Bazaars, small boutiques, multiply stores, and of course, Ebay are among my new favourite haunts. Still, probably the best place that I'd recently rediscovered is the SM department store. I'm not ashamed to actually admit that I shopped here a lot back when I was a perpetually broke college student. Their stuff was cheap, plain enough to pair with anything, and did I mention it was cheap? :D

The boy and I went to SM Marikina to watch Wolvering earlier this month, and we decided to swing by the shoe department. I was very pleasantly surprised to discover that they were carrying a lot more choices than they used to, and that quite a lot of their (very affordable shoes) were actually very nicely designed. Check out these two pairs that I picked up:
VS

I've always bemoaned the flat, ugly comfy shoe vs the sexy, unbearably uncomfortable high heel, but when faced with the two choices above I was completely at a loss. When I tried on those brown flats with the gold trim, I think I could actually officially say that my search for the perfect shoe had finally ended.

Of course, that bliss lasted for all of two seconds, because then I saw the purple pair. They're about as comfortable as you'd expect any 3-inch heeled shoes to be, and the intricate flower embroideries make me wonder how many poor Chinese children slaved over the things.

When faced with the choice, I did what any woman would do: I refused to make it and bought them both. :D

Of course, a couple of weeks after the fact, I can safely say that I've worn the brown flats everyday to work and the purple heels all of one time. Considering that the heels cost almost P250 ($5) more than the flats, I'd say that the flats were a better buy. Still, I maintain that I regret nothing.

Nothing, I tell you! ;D

If they're as cheap as you claim them to be, buying 2 won't set you back much hehe

Earth- Hehe, thanks hun! I totally love wearing the brown shoes, though of course they don't make your legs appear as long as heels do. :D

Philos- They're... cheap from a certain point of view?

JC- You know me so well. :D

Thanks, Gina! I wish the purple pair had the comfort of the brown one, but no such luck. :D
