Hair, Hair, Everywhere! A Not-So-Complete Documentary of my Past and Present Haircuts

So I went to the salon today and spent 5 hours getting my hair rebonded. This was coaxed from my previous mop of curly hair:

As I marveled at the very different head of hair that I now sported, I got to thinking about my "hair history", and all the styles that had come before. My curly hair was, of course, digitally permed (my real hair is neither curly nor straight, and is some bizarre mish-mash of both).

The photo on the left was taken last week, which was a grown-out version of the photo on the right. Digital perming is great when it's new, and it's supposed to be somewhat easier on the hair than regular perming.

Going back further, and we have my hair from when I was still living in Japan...

The photo on the left was after I'd gotten my asymmetrically-cut wavy hair rebonded, and the photo on the right was right after I'd gotten the lopsided hair cut. (Yes, I know I look like a scary emo child on the photo on the left-- probably came from listening to too much Evanescence and cutting myself in the bathroom).

Beyond that, I had previously cut my hair short from a much longer length:

You can't really see the length there, but it was down my back. I maintained this length and level of straightness for quite a while (perhaps a year or so?), because I was experimenting with chopsticks and different ways of putting my hair up.

And before those days? My college days at Fine Arts were pretty much synonymous to changing my hair color every other month depending on my "artistic mood" (i.e. wank level). I tried everything from light brown to blond streaks to the more extreme ash blond and volcanic red (you can't tell from the picture, but that hair was *red*) pictured below.

To this day, I regret that I never tried blue hair. I did have jologs orange hair for a brief moment, but that was more because I had to wait X number of weeks between color changes so as to avoid frying my strands.

Before college, I pretty much had your average wavy black hair that I always kept in a ponytail. Highly uninteresting stuff, lol.

In any case, I think I'm back on the road to growing my hair down my back, in which case I may eventually go full circle with the hair thing. Only time (and advancements in the beauty industry) will tell! :D

I've always wished for blue hair (after hearing that my classmate had hers dyed purple in college).

But then, I think I'd just do that when I'm not in the Philippines. So people won't stare as much. Hahaha...

Though you have a license to have "weird" color hair. :-P 'Coz you're an artist.
