With the eleventh feature film addition to the Star Trek universe, creators have decided to go back to the original crew of the Starship Enterprise. That's right-- we've got Kirk, Spock, Sulu, and the rest of the gang back on the big screen. The movie will be telling their stories *before* the original series started, so we've got Kirk back at Starfleet Academy meeting Spock for the first time. Hah, talk about history in the making!
In true Star Trek fashion, we've got a pretty fine looking cast filling out the slots:

Check out John Cho playing Hikaru Sulu. There's something ironic about having a Korean-American actor playing a Japanese-Filipino character, but whatever. I love Harold & Kumar! :D
Requisite prettyboy Chris Pine is playing James T. Kirk, while Lord of the Rings badass Karl Urban plays Dr. Leonard McCoy. Talk about miscasting for Bones, but hey, when you miscast a man *that* good-looking, even the most stalwart fans will stfu.
And of course, the highlight of the cast round-up is none other than:
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't vulcans supposed to be emotionless? Anyway, who cares? It's Zach Quinto playing everyone's favourite half-Vulcan, half-human second-in-command: Mr. Spock! Yay!

I swear to God, when I heard the all-too familiar "Space: The Final Frontier" phrase coupled with the opening strains of the theme, I burst into tears like a little bitch. Go watch it-- I've already seen it eight times in the past 5 minutes.
My life now has meaning. Hooray!

Did you really burst into tears? Is that a normal Trekkie reaction? :-(
JC - No, of course not. It would take much more to squeeze actual tears out of me. Like, say, if they actually filmed Kirk beating the Kobayashi Maru simulation instead of just always alluding to it in books and stuff. :D
Hmmm... I must've been under a rock or something.
