I've never been to Boracay (or any other beach) during the rainy season, and now I know why it's a very bad idea. Three other girlfriends and I went on a 3-day vacation to the La Carmella beach resort, and as I sit in the Caticlan airport waiting for my plane back to Manila, I can't help but wonder what the hell I was thinking.
People always tell me that I need a vacation, but I'm pretty sure sitting in a mediocre hotel room whilst the rain poured outside wasn't what they meant. On the one hand, I did get to catch up on a little television (that I thankfully had stored on my otherwise useless UMPC). I couldn't work, I couldn't swim, and for some reason I didn't feel like getting drunk.
My friends told me that I'd changed (I was far more serious now), and I can't help but wonder if that's true. And if it is, is it a bad thing?
Getting wasted on the beach seems so very much like a college kid's fare, and I just couldn't muster the enthusiasm to do it. I used to wonder why my father would always be chilling in the hotel room or by the pool whenever we went to resorts, but now I think I know why. I guess you just reach a point where you no longer feel as pressured to have fun all the time, and sometimes it's enough to just lay back and watch.
That said, I wish I'd brought my work laptop instead of this crappy little UMPC. I could've gotten a crapload of work done...
Pictures and a less introspective/wanky post when I get home!

Yes yes, pictures please. I want to know what a rain-drenched beach looks like :-D
JC- too bad I didn't actually take pictures of the beach... you'll have to settle for pictures of me in a bikini. :D
I liked the way how to write your memorable experience moment in boracay. Well boracay has good atmosphere and relaxing... there more adventure and freshly seafood. Hopefully you can post some photos.
